In 1987, he became the lead singer for the Kompa band, Zin, for over 20 years. Zins! eclectic sound changed the style of Kompa music as it was; leading to a more complex and diverse musical sound in this industry. The propensity for songwriting was discovered by a young Alan and his talent was recognized worldwide. Cavé is regarded as a prolific songwriter and composer. Concomitantly as a member of Zin, he released several solo albums. His greatest success came from the song titled, "Se pa pou dat” reaching audiences in six continents and reshaping the way ballads are composed in this genre. Simultaneously, propelling the group Zin to international recognition. The title song still resonates 20 years later and has been covered by several artists both new and old. The success of this song was proceeded and heavily influenced by the song "All I want”. Alan believes this song is a true representation of himself as a songwriter and composer. He has released 7 solo projects and continues to create music as a solo artist under his record label AC Records Entertainment & Distribution.
